Year 4 Adventure Day and Camp
Last weekend our Year 4 children went on their Adventure Day and Camp. It was an amazing experience for all the children involved as they focused on key map skills and navigated their way around the West Lancashire country side. Starting at Parbold, the children split into three groups and navigated their way to Rock and River. After their 10 km trek, they enjoyed a meal and set up camp for the night. Once the tents were orgainsed, the children had the opportunity to develop team skills through initiative games, roast marshmallows on a campfire. Before Bed, the children enjoyed a campfire sing a long as they performed their own poems to music.
After an exciting night under canvas, the children packed away their tents then enjoyed the opportunity to' Den Build' and explore 'Rock and River' through an orienteering task before being collected by their parents at lunch time.
Throughout the whole experience all of the children did themselves proud as they approached everything with a smile and overcame many challenges along the way. The children also grew in independence and resilience ensuring they are now fully prepared for all of the adventures that lie ahead in year 5.
As a school we were extremely proud of everyone.
