Year 4 - River Day

Year 4 have started their new geography topic of RIVERS.

We think the best way to learn about rivers is to experience them first hand so off we went to the beautiful Forest of Bowland and the River Brock. There we met Steve who led a fantastic river study experience for us. Our first job as river investigators was to measure the width of the river and the water depth. Second job of the day was to record the speed of the river at different points along the river. Lastly, we investigated the pollution levels in that stretch of river. From the animals we caught we discovered that it was a fresh water river with very low pollution levels.

We all had a fantastic day and are excited to learn more about rivers this term!
