Year 2 Visit to Fire Station

On Tuesday 2nd November Year 2 made their annual visit to Ormskirk Fire Station to support their learning in this term's History topic 'Fire! Fire!’

On arrival Year 2 were given a tour of the station and told all about the work of a Fire Fighter. The children were shown what a fire engine has to be equipped with inside to help people and animals in fires and other dangerous situations. They were all given the opportunity to sit inside a fire engine amd to use the fire hose!

The children learnt more about a Fire fighter’s protective clothing and breathing apparatus that they would wear when going into a fire and how the alarm would be activated when a call was received. 

It was an very exciting morning for Year 2!
